Spring Housing

Students cancel their housing for a variety of reasons such as taking a leave of absence, withdrawing from the University, a new life event such as marriage, because they graduate, or because they study abroad. These cancellations create vacancies in the spring.

Much of our housing availability is dependent on fall housing residents moving out/cancelling their housing contracts. Because of this, housing is limited in all of our areas. We are happy to note roommate requests but many of our rooms/apartments do not have multiple openings in them, so we are not able to guarantee to meet your roommate request.

• First-years can live in Camino/Founders, Maher, Valley A or Valley B
• Second years can live in San Buenaventura, Alcala Vistas, Manchester Village or San Antonio de Padua (SAP)
• Upperclassmen can live in Pacific Ridge or Manchester Village

We have a very limited number of single bedrooms in our inventory. Chances of getting a single in the spring are even more limited as many are occupied by fall residents. It’s best to still list it as a top preference but it is not guaranteed.

• We expect to have a bed-space for all undergraduate students who apply on/before January 2nd.
• We are happy to accept roommate requests through December 1st.
• Placements will be released the week of January 12th.

• The standard $250 cancellation fee WILL apply if a new spring resident cancels their application at any time and for any reason. This includes a cancellation related to roommate or location preferences.
• Fall residents must receive approval from our office to break their spring contract for anything other than a predetermined reason.
• Predetermined cancellations include a leave of absence, withdrawal, graduation, studying abroad, or a major life event such as marriage.
• If approved, personal cancellations will result in $1,000 cancellation fee. This fee increases to $1,500 on December 2nd and to $2,000 on January 2nd.
