International Education Week 2025

International Education Week (IEW) is a joint initiative of the US Department of Education and the US Department of State to recognize the global exchange environment between the United States and other countries. All faculty, students and staff are strongly encouraged to participate in the various activities throughout the week!

Women PeaceMakers Lunch Lecture

This Women PeaceMakers Lunch Lecture features Lilian Olivia Orero, a Gender and Technology Lawyer and the Founder of SafeOnline Women Kenya (SOW-Kenya). She works to combat technology-facilitated gender-based violence through legal advocacy, feminist policy reform and digital innovation, including overseeing the AI-powered "SafeHer" app. Olivia challenges the gendered architecture of digital spaces, reframing them as platforms for peacebuilding and safety rather than control and harm. Olivia will discuss using Feminist Participatory Action Research (FPAR) in practice.
